Lluís Cucurull crowned 2025 Catalan Absolute Champion at Pitch & Putt Gualta
On 19, 20 and 21 September, Pitch & Putt Gualta hosted the 2025 Catalan Absolute Championship, one of the most prestigious competitions on the Catalan Pitch & Putt Federation calendar.
Over three intense days, the Empordà course welcomed the country’s leading players, with an exceptional standard of play and an outstanding sporting atmosphere. The course was presented in excellent condition, reflecting the constant work of the maintenance team, and tested the skill and concentration of every participant.
The standout winner of the weekend was Lluís Cucurull, who finished with a total score of -14 to become the 2025 Catalan Absolute Champion. This was his second absolute title, following his previous victory in 2023. Cucurull delivered a very solid and consistent performance throughout the championship, confirming his status as one of the leading figures in Catalan pitch & putt.
Joel Girbau finished in second place on -12, tied with Nil Mañer, who completed the podium in third place. Eduard Ramos took fourth place, while José Romero finished fifth, rounding out the Top 5 in a particularly competitive edition.
For Pitch & Putt Gualta, hosting a championship of this level is a source of pride and prestige. It is recognition of the course’s track record, its high standard of maintenance and the organisational capabilities of the team. The event also helped place Gualta at the centre of media attention, with a feature broadcast on 3Cat highlighting the best moments of the competition.
